About Acne Keloidalis Nuchae
Acne Keloidalis Nuchae is also known by other names such as:
* Folliculitis Nuchae Scleroticans
* Lichen Keloidalis Nuchae
* Dermatitis Papillaris Capillitii
* Sycosis Framboesiformis
It often affects males of African descent. However it can also manifest in other ethnicities.
In this condition, hair follicles become inflammed. This results in the build up of unsightly scar tissue on the back of the head.
Medications can alleviate some of the symptoms. But this will not make the tissue mass disappear. The only way to remove this tumor is through surgical excision. This will leave a scar on the back of the neck.
Patients can undergo scar revision procedures to make it look flatter and less noticeable.
